Book cover and website design for Pamela Lane, contemporary Fiction author, Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset.
We were approached by Pamela Lane Books to design the book cover for a fourth fictional novel ‘ASH’. The brief was to create something that was eye catching, but hinted at the modern story line, that focused around a natural disaster but also touches on environmental issues. We created an image that is a composite of three images to create an etherial, moody cover design that hints at the stories content.
Pamela was so pleased with the book cover, that she the asked us to design her website. The brief was to create a small portfolio site, that really showcases the contemporary fiction novels, whilst providing a bit of information about the author herself. She didn’t want to sell the books directly through her website, but would instead, link through to purchase from Amazon in either paper back or kindle.
As budget didn’t allow for new photography, we had to create a hero image using a combination of stock photography and the individual book cover art (sprinkled with our retouching magic!). This really does show off Pamela Lane’s current range of novels, in a beautiful and engaging way.
As you can see the finished result is a clean, fresh and contemporary website, that allows the novels to speak for themselves.
