Proud to introduce the Under Construction logo design for Sedgemoor District Council
We were asked to design a new logo for Sedgemoorn District Council’s Under Construction (teeny bit excited!), a collaborative approach to employment and skills. Focused on people reconstruction amid Sedgemoor’s developments. The road to success is always Under Construction!
We firstly had a meeting at Sedgemoor District Council to learn more about Under Construction, who their audience is and how Under Construction fits in with the rest of Sedgemoor.
Our client discussed ideas of having a crane within the design or an illustration of the earth. One other thing that was mentioned, was that they would be setting up a new premises that they would call ‘the hub’. We took this on board and headed back to the studio.
After a great deal of research about the industry, we set upon putting pen to paper. We ended up with quite a range of design concepts, but we knew we had hit the nail on the head with the chosen logo design. We were very pleased when our client was instantly drawn to the same logo.
We used the initials ‘U’ and ‘C’ to form a circular hub to represent Under Construction and the circle in the middle, signifies their client.
After successfully completing the logo design, we were asked to join them at the launch of Under Construction. This was an incredible experience and we were very proud to have our artwork revealed on this special occasion. We even got to meet Sally Gunnell, what a treat!
We were delighted when Under Construction asked us to work on a second project, to design a mission statement canvas. We had a small amount of text to play with and no imagery, so we knew we had to create a simple layout that incorporated something special. Each section had a heading that began with the word OUR. The ‘O’ became the symbol from the logo design. To our delight, our client was over the moon with the outcome.
