Burnham & Highbridge Town Council | WordPress Website Design

Burnham-on-Sea & Highbridge Town Council is the local authority for the two towns of Burnham-on-Sea & Highbridge. They work closely with Sedgemoor District Council and Somerset County Council to improve and maintain the beach, streets, footpaths, open spaces and recreation areas, as well as being responsible for local cemeteries, allotments, the Princess Theatre and local groups.

Burnham & Highbridge Town Council approached us to quote for building a brand new custom built WordPress website, that they could update with news as and when required. They were finding their old website challenging and time consuming to maintain and update, and needed a website that kept the community well informed.

The Design Hive team are all live in the local area, so being trusted and given the opportunity to modernise and develop a new website for the Town Council website, was an exciting time for The Design Hive team.

The first task was to look at how we could use the existing logo to complement the new website. Striping the logo back to its simplest form gave us inspiration to push this further. We went out armed with our camera to take photos of iconic buildings within Burnham and Highbridge. Illustrations were created from these photos in the same style as the logo, which you can now see as part of the website design.

Burnham & Highbridge Town Council make all the updates to news and events, as well as organising the events calendar, job vacancies and other changes to the site. We understand that Burnham & Highbridge Town Council are delighted with the new website not only from a design point of view, but they are thrilled with how quick and easy it is to update.
