Buzzing with Community Spirit at the Sedgemoor Business Expo 🐝

Why It Mattered

There’s nothing quite like a room full of brilliant local businesses, bacon butties, and big ideas — and this year’s Sedgemoor Business Expo at The Canalside delivered on all fronts. Organised by the wonderful team at the Sedgemoor Chamber of Commerce (of which I’m proud to be a board member), the event was a true celebration of the vibrant business community we’re lucky to be part of.

A Day Full of Connection and Creativity

The day began the best way all great days should — with a proper full English breakfast and some friendly networking. Then it was straight into action, as the exhibition floor buzzed with activity. From inspiring conversations and insightful workshops to catching up with familiar faces, the atmosphere was electric (and not just because of the free sweets at our stand).

Our Design Hive booth was looking extra sharp (if we do say so ourselves), and we even brought along our cheeky ‘Spin the Win’ prize wheel — shoutout to Helen Lacey who scored a Terry’s Chocolate Orange. Sweet success!

🎥 And the buzz was captured in full cinematic glory this year thanks to videographer Darren Honeywill – who even brought out the drones! From stall interviews to sweeping aerial shots, Darren’s brilliant camera work helped showcase the energy, creativity and community spirit of the event. We can’t wait to see the final footage!

The Highlights

• Seeing so many of our clients and collaborators out in full force
• A BBQ finale that had everyone ending the day on a delicious high
• The chance to meet new faces and reconnect with old friends
• And of course… the unbeatable vibe of a business community lifting each other up

Special thanks to Helen and Harry for helping to pack away the stall – and to Harry for carrying just about everything to my car (true MVP). It takes a hive, and ours is full of legends.

The Takeaway
